Abstract: There are many reasons that emotional intelligence can be seen as a significant determinant of personal emotional communication exchanges in everyday life. Conceptualized contemporary researchers as a distinctive personal trait, emotional intelligence is the ability to influence other human behavior and especially on interpersonal relationships. The theoretical composition of the report focuses on the interpretation of emotional intelligence as a kind of behavioral characteristic that is the basis of individual differences between people and affects interpersonal relationships through different styles of humour. This thesis is confirmed by research data, which proves that the genes that determine individual differences constitute and individual differences in emotional intelligence and the relationship between the use of different styles of humour.
