Petya Toleva - The Library Funds as Agents of Scientific Communication among the Museums in BulgariaAbstract: The purpose of this article is to present a new model of scientific communication among the museums in Bulgaria by considering their library collections. The article focuses on the new information and communication technologies as a form of cooperation, which are already implemented and used in the activities of the public libraries. It also illustrates the electronic and united online catalogues, associated with the digitalization of the cultural heritage. The author argues that the application of such models in the Bulgarian museums is necessary because the library funds are important to preservation, using and dissemination of knowledge. On the other hand, the development of the libraries in the museums, which are known as special libraries and their extensive analysis, will contribute to the development of scientific research in the Bulgarian museums.
