Abstract: This article briefly presents the historical link between Pedagogy and Rhetoric, which has led to the creation of Pedagogical Rhetoric as an independent science. It presents the object, the purpose and the tasks of Pedagogical Rhetoric, which is called upon to solve problems related to pedagogical communication. Basic concepts are clarified and an attempt is made to define communicative competency of the teacher from the perspective of Pedagogical Rhetoric and Didactics. The specificity of verbal and nonverbal communication in the classroom is addressed. A model is proposed for preparation and implementation of effective pedagogical communication.
