Аbstract: The purpose of this article is to identify the diverse socio-cultural impacts of the media in our country, as well as their increasing role in social transformations and consequences. Based on a constructed „media ecocodebook“ as a categorical matrix and a functional model, which can be supplemented by specific research categories and categorical features characterizing media content according to the chosen topic, two content analyses have been conducted on specific media eco-problems in our country in the late 2018 and the early 2019. The article is also based on the results of qualitative research conducted in 2019 among prominent scientists and experts in the framework of a research project funded by the National Research Fund on the theme of “Digital Media Literacy in the Context of the Knowledge Society: State and Challenges“.
