The Pseudo Argument in the Student’s Verbal Convincing Speech

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to aid the effectiveness of convincing academic communication. The paper presents data from presentations delivered by first-year university students while defending their personal position on a discussion topic. Different types of invalid arguments are analyzed in the light of the contemporary theory of argumentation to show how they deprive their thesis of sufficient justification.
