Marieta Boteva

Marieta Boteva is a full professor at „St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo”. Boteva teaches rhetoric, public communication, argumentation and debates to students of philosophy, political sciences, psychology and law. Her research interests are in the fields of history of rhetoric, argumentation, political communication, and debates. She holds an MA in Bulgarian philology and history, and a PhD in rhetoric (1988). Marieta Boteva finished a post-graduate course in speech skills and speech arts at Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ (1982). Marietta Boteva earned a PhD in rhetoric (1988) and a Doc. Hab. in philosophy (rhetorical argumentation) (2012). She has administrative experience as the head of the Department of Political science, sociology and cultural studies (2000-2002). She participated in the initial program accreditation of the specialty of Political Science and the MA program of Rhetoric at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is the author of articles and monographs, including “Dictionary of rhetoric. 150 arguments” (2003, 2008), “Political argumentation in rhetorical discourses” (2013), “The dialogue from Socrates to the present day” (1999), “Rhetoric during the Bulgarian Renaissance” (2001), “How to write speeches?
