Abstract: The main goal of the article is to outline the theoretical approaches used for analyzing the spoken media language. Until now, the approaches applied follow the models of functional stylistics, prescriptive grammar, sociolinguistics and pragmatics. The observations presented in this article are part of the work on the project №DTK02/11 “Models and Tools for Spoken Communication of Contemporary Bulgarian language” funded by the Scientific Research Fund of the Ministry of Education.
