Abstract: What is the influence of modern communication technologies on the process of culture inter-penetration in the modern world and does their use impart irreversible character to the globalization process? It is difficult to give a definite answer to this question and maybe it is too early as well. The proposed report attempts to outline some of the more significant aspects of such formulated issue. On the grounds of analysis of the transformations in the way of thinking and social and psychological attitudes, caused by different forms of communication on the Internet, it was hypothesized that the latter are a precondition both for cultures inter-penetration and the contrary tendency towards increasing the differences between them, which can be considered as an organic alternative to globalization, necessary for implementing the subsequent major historical transformation.
