Abstracts: The complex character of the subject “Bulgarian Language and Literature” in the primary school requires in order to explain the reasons for low educational success of students from ethnic minority to take into account the difficulties in their language education as well as specific difficulties in the literature (reading) education. The current article focuses on ethno-cultural aspects of reading and the difficulties are discussed in two aspects – during the process of acquiring of reading skills, during the process of improving of the literacy and during the process of development of reading interests and reading culture as an inseparable part of literature lessons. Methodical proposals for optimization of reading teaching in cultural heterogeneous classes are presented on the base of the analysis of the features and specifics.
